Jessica Bailess graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in French. She continued her education at South Texas College of Law. Jessica was very active in law school activities, including serving as Articles Editor for the Currents International Trade Law Journal, volunteering as a mentor and admissions office representative, conducting tutoring classes, and assisting two professors with editing and research for their scholarly publications.

Her legal background includes working for large firms, sole practitioners, small companies, and a Fortune 500 company. This diverse background has given her a broad range of knowledge of the issues affecting companies today. Her specialties include contracts, general corporate work, employment law, and corporate compliance.

In addition to her legal background, Jessica worked for over 5 years in the financial services industry, assisting a broker/dealer with group benefits and 401(k) accounts for companies, as well as insurance and estate planning for high wealth individual clients. She also has extensive experience in compliance, proofreading, technical writing, translating, tutoring, and corporate training.

While working as in-house counsel, Jessica came to understand the unique issues facing companies today, including the constant battle between what needs to be done and budgetary constraints. She is passionate about helping companies to maintain compliance in an effective and efficient manner and help them grow to their full potential. Her unique experience in legal and non-legal positions gives her the ability to relate to the highest level of management as well as the lowest level of employee, understand the needs of all in between, and help develop systems that address those needs.

Jessica is licensed to practice law in Texas and New York. She is a member of the Corporate Counsel section of the Texas Bar Association, the Houston Young Lawyers Association, and the American Bar Association. She also serves the State of Texas as a Notary Public.
